SUMMARY:Webinar: Reshaping the Lipid Science Landscape
DESCRIPTION:Summary\nLipids are fundamental for our existence, having shapes of being both good and bad. We estimate that eucaryotic cells encompass hundreds to thousands of individual lipid species that structurally and chemically regulate cell membrane dynamics, store energy and/or serve as precursors of bioactive metabolites. Still, we are only scratching the surface in lipid science, leaving many open questions to the background of this high diversity and to the functions and roles of the individual species.\nWe know that loss of control in the lipid machineries may initiate unwanted cascades of biological events triggering deleterious pathophysiological conditions. However, the underlying details and dynamics on the affected lipid network still remain poorly defined.
